Sealing principle of octagonal gasket

1、 Compression deformation

The sealing material of the octagonal gasket achieves sealing through compression deformation. When the octagonal gasket is installed between the connecting components, external pressure acts on the gasket, causing it to be compressed. This pressure forms a sealing contact between the various octagonal points of the gasket and fills potential sealing gaskets.

2、 Elastic recovery

Octagonal gasket seals are generally made of elastic materials such as rubber or polymer. Due to their excellent elasticity, these two materials can undergo elastic deformation under pressure. When the external pressure disappears, the gasket will return to its initial state and transform back into its original octagonal shape. This elastic recovery ensures the reliability and long-term service life of the seal.

3、 Sealing performance

The sealing design of the octagonal gasket provides multiple sealing contact points through its octagonal cross-section, increasing sealing performance. Each octagonal gasket can independently provide sealing, reducing the risk of leakage. The octagonal shape can also provide better adaptability and stability under pressure and temperature changes.

In summary, the sealing principle of the octagonal gasket is based on the compression deformation and elastic recovery characteristics, and is designed with an octagonal shape to achieve effective sealing.
