Metal ring gasket, according to its name, is a type of annular gasket made of metal material. This gasket has a radial self tightening sealing effect, mainly formed by the contact between the gasket and the inner and outer surfaces (mainly the outer side) of the flange trapezoidal groove, and the sealing effect is formed by compression.
How many main structural forms do you know about metal ring gaskets?
The main structural forms of metal ring gaskets are as follows:
① R-shaped oval gasket: standard oval metal ring gasket; Applied to flanges with standard grooves.
② R-shaped octagonal gasket: standard octagonal metal ring gasket; Applied to flanges with standard grooves.
③ RX type octagonal gasket: pressure resistance up to 700 bar; This gasket can be interchanged with a standard R-type ring gasket. When in use, the outer sealing surface and flange are first in contact, and high system pressure will generate high base stress.
④ BX type octagonal gasket: can withstand high pressure up to 1500bar; This gasket is suitable for API BX flanges and mortise and tenon flanges, and is self sealed and controlled by the internal system pressure generated by the gasket base pressure on the enhanced flange contact surface.
