Installation process of octagonal gasket

The overall installation process of the octagonal gasket starts from preparation → cleaning → positioning → docking and fastening → inspection.

Preparation: Confirm that the specifications (size, material) of the octagonal gasket match the flange, prepare a wrench and cleaning agent, and check that the gasket is not deformed and the flange sealing surface is free of cracks.

Cleaning: Clean the flange sealing groove and octagonal gasket surface with a cleaning agent to remove oil stains and impurities, and avoid affecting the sealing.

Positioning: Place the octagonal gasket steadily into the flange sealing groove, ensuring that it is centered and aligned without deviation or skewness.

Docking and fastening: Align the two flanges with the bolt holes, thread the bolts, and tighten them diagonally and evenly (do not tighten a single bolt at once), allowing the gasket to compress evenly.

Inspection: After tightening, check if the gasket is filled with the sealing groove and has no protrusions/gaps. Subsequent pressure testing can be used to confirm that there are no leaks.

Special attention should be paid to the matching of materials, such as using stainless steel gaskets for stainless steel flanges, to avoid violent operations that may cause damage to the gaskets or flanges!
