1) The first issue is the sealing surface: the sealing gasket of the metal ring gasket and the flange sealing surface should be cleaned before installation, and there should be no defects on the surface.
2) The outer diameter of the sealing gasket should be smaller than the flange sealing surface, and the inner diameter should be larger than the inner diameter of the pipeline. The difference between the two inner diameters should be twice the thickness of the sealing gasket. In this way, after compression, the inner edge of the sealing gasket will not protrude into the container or pipeline, avoiding hindering fluid flow.
3) The pre tightening force of the sealing gasket should not exceed the design specifications to avoid loss of rebound force due to excessive compression of the sealing gasket.
4) It is best to use a torque wrench to tighten the sealing gasket, and for large or high-strength bolts, it is best to use a hydraulic tightener.
5) Next is the installation issue: When installing the sealing gasket of the metal ring gasket, the nuts should be tightened in sequence, and the design value should not be reached at once. At least two or three cycles should be repeated to ensure even stress distribution of the gasket.
6) If it is a pressure vessel and pipeline transporting flammable and explosive media, safety tools should be used when installing gaskets to avoid sparks caused by collisions between tools and flanges or bolts, which may lead to accidents.
7) If a pipeline leak is found, it is necessary to reduce the pressure before replacing and adjusting the gasket. It is strictly prohibited to operate under pressure.
